Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic)
Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). From 23 to 26 August 2019 the meeting of the Commission of the Salesian School America (ESA) took place. The commission meets once a year to accompany, verify, plan and reflect on the processes that are being developed in the different regions. The members of this commission are the referents of the Conferences and Regions:
Mesoamerica – Cimac: Pe Héctor Ugarte and Sr. Arelys Paulino - (Father Carlos Alberto Montoya Manzo and Sister Altagrace Mathias, Father William Batista of the Dominican Republic.
Andina - Cinab: Lic. Elma Mireya Ardila and Sister Bertha Vivas
Cisbrasil - Cib: Ana Paula Costa and Silva and Sister Adair Sberga
Sepsur - Cicsal: Lic. Rossanna Benítez and Sister Patricia Parraguéz
PG Department - Pe. René Santos
PG area - Sister Ivone Goulart Lopes
The themes dealt with were:
- The Message of the Councilors of YP: Fr. Fabio Attard SDB, and Sr. Runita Borja, FMA
- Education according to the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation - Christus Vivit, in videoconference with Pe. Tarcisio Morais.
- Review of the International Meeting on Catholic Education - OIEC in New York
- Reflection on the CV document and the OIEC Congress on the challenges for the Salesian School in America.
During the meeting each region shared with the commission the steps that are being taken; the Evaluation Tools of the EJES - ESA IV and the Identity Card of the Salesian School America were revised; there was a visit to two educational works, one of the FMA and one of the SDB; the 2nd ESA Book IV in Portuguese and the Spanish ESA Book IV and Ebook and ESA IV videos were presented.
