The 4th of June, 2016 is one of the historic days in the chronicles of the FMA Shillong Province dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On this day when the feast of the Province is celebrated, the Auxilium Home- a hostel for girls was blessed by Rev. Fr. George Maliekal SDB, Provincial of Silchar province and inaugurated by Rev. Sr. Suja Isabella, Provincial. The gathering of sisters, novices, past pupils, Salesian Co-operators, young people, friends, workers and well wishers for the event was a moment of solemn thanksgiving to God for the immeasurable blessings we receive every day, in particular for the realization of this long cherished dream. The hostel is dedicated to all young people who will be welcomed into the hallowed precincts and provide safe shelter to a great number of young people in their educational sojourn.
The province expresses its gratitude to all those who in various ways played indelible role towards the plan and construction of this magnificent edifice. We remain ever grateful to our beloved late Sr. Bernadette Sangma who even at her sick bed did the ground work for its realization and completion with the hope that it will become a home away from home for many young girls and women who remained dear to her heart throughout her life. We gratefully acknowledge the significant role played by Sr. Sr. Vilma Tallone, our Economer General and the Administrative Sector of the Institute and hats off to Sr. Marcellina Sangma for the herculean task undertaken by her, seeing to every minute detail towards the successful completion and realization of this educational institution today. We place in record the generous contribution of our benefactors and friends who supported the project at various stages. Singing out the miracles of God’s providential love in our life and the life and mission of our province is a thankful prayer to be sung perennially.
