On January 1, 2016, the Provincial House of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians at Boksburg in the South Africa Province (AFM), welcomed the new Provincial, Sr. Marie Claire Jean, FMA of Haiti. Fr. François de Quattro and Fr. Michael O Connell, SDB presided at the Eucharistic Celebration.
The Liturgy was well prepared and guided the participants to thank the Lord for the availability of Sr. Marie Claire for her new mission in Zambia-Lesotho.
After a time of fraternity in the afternoon, the Sisters participated in the official ceremony of the passage of the mandate of the service of animation of Sr. Julienne Munyemba to Sr. Marie Claire Jean. Typical flowers of Zambia, South Africa, and Lesotho were offered to Sr. Marie Claire Jean by the Sisters as a symbol of blessing.
Sr. Marie Claire thanked the Sisters for their welcome and the spirit of faith with which they received her as the Provincial. She assured them of her willingness to listen, to walk and work together, and her desire to be a sister among her sisters.
The newly installed Provincial renewed her commitment to spread the charism in South Africa.
