Economy and Management
'Economy and Management of Works in the Light of the Charism', was the title of the Seminar for the Provincial Economers of the Inter-provincial Conference Africa Madagascar (CIAM) in the gathering at Libreville, Gabon on August 10-14. There were 24 participants between Provincial Economers, delegates, local Economers, and Provincial Councillors of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello Province, Equatorial Africa (AEC). Sr. Alessandra Smerilli, FMA, from Rome, and Mr. Nga Mabastsogho Jean Marie from Cameron animated and coordinated the encounter.
They shared the theme of the charisms and works as the way toward economic and social development, and the characteristics of good management, project planning, and sustainability. Then with Sr. Alessandra, they reflected on the management of the works, co-responsibility, and the concreteness of charity in the communion of goods.
On the afternoon of the 12th, there was a cultural visit to the city that ended with a look at a handicraft market where the Economers were able to share and get new ideas. The days alternated between times of listening, workshops, and dialogue. The reflection is only the start of an open journey and of hope for an improved and charismatic management.
