The Seminar at Addis Abeba is the fifth appointment on a world scale of the Salesian Family Delegates. It followed that of Częstochowa, Poland in February of 2011; Bangkok, Thailand in September of 2010; San Paolo, Brazil in October 2010; Quito, Ecuador in November 2010; and now at Addis Abeba. As in the preceding regional meetings, Addis Abeba also placed at the center of the reflections, the specific role of the Delegate of SF, of SSCC, and of EXA-DB and EXA-FMA, as the connecting figure and spiritual guide for the laity of the Salesian Family.
The formation of the Delegates came about through the study of and comparisons with various texts, from those of a universal character of the Catholic Church like "Christifideles Laici", to those specifically the product of internal reflection. The latter included, The Missionary Charter of the Salesian Family, Document on Local Consultations of the Salesian Family, the theme, "Self Formation and Formation to Networking in the Salesian Family," "Accompaniment With and Toward the Salesian Charism." These reflections did not omit the operative part and the Delegates elaborated proposals and solutions for the actualization of accompaniment models in the specific realties of Africa and Madagascar.
Among the numerous interventions, we point out those of Fr. Adriano Bregolin, Sr. Maria Luisa Miranda, Councillor for the FMA Salesian Family Sector, Sr. Maritza Ortiz, World Delegate of the FMA Past Pupils, Fr. Stjepan Bolkovac, World SSCC Delegate, and Fr. Josè Pastor Ramirez, World Delegate of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco and Collaborator in the Department of the Salesian Family.

Hospitality was organized by Mr. Cesare Bullo, Director of the Financial Office of the Province of Ethiopia and Eritrea, and Fr. John Samala, Director of the Provincial House of Ethiopia.
