Which are the values lived in family that help to build a meaningful society? This was the theme of the Fourth National Congress of FMA Past Pupils held from July 1 -3 at the Intercontinental Hotel of the City of Medellín. 252 people participated.
The Federation of the Mary Help of Christians Province was committed to prepare the environment to help revive the authentic values that characterize us as Salesian Family. Joy, shared prayer, reciprocity and the spirit of celebration were the predominant notes.
The various reports given by the officers of the different Federations facilitated the identification of values in the context of family and society to open horizons and for commitment. These are the three titles of the reports: "Family, the mother cell of communion" presented by the Federation of Our Lady of the Snows, Bogota, "Family, generator of attitudes for a harmonious co-existence" under the animation of the Federation of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá, Bogotà, and "The Colombian reality, a challenge for a lively and significant presence of the Past Pupil", presented by the Federation of St. Mary Mazzarello, Medellín."
The presence of the world President, Dr. Carolina Fiorica and world delegate of the FMA, Sr. Maritza Ortiz, gave the Congress an international, Salesian touch. Furthermore, a past pupil Dr. Juan Gómez Martínez, who is now a senator, gave the event an interesting socio-political contribution.
